We’re looking for a front-end developer to work on our funded projects (including http://imascientist.org.uk/, http://imanengineer.org.uk/ and https://imamedic.uk/).
We specialise in creating and managing online events for school students to interact with people in STEM jobs. Students and scientists take part in text-based live Chats, and asynchronous Q&A (like a messageboard). At the end, students vote for their favourite scientist.
We’re looking for someone to help with our front-end work. Our sites are all on WordPress and use Nginx. You should be experienced in:
- CSS
- JavaScript
- PHP
- Sass would be useful
There are rarely emergencies. You’ll mostly update and maintain the stylesheets, create new templates for new projects, work on accessibility updates, etc. We’re also very open to feedback and ideas for ways to improve our sites.
As a CIC, our finance is based on funding, which means we don’t do lots of big work or make huge changes. But we’d like someone who could help us when we need it.
The workflow is varied, but we estimate between 5 and 10 hours per month at £40 – £50 per hour.
If you’re keen, please get in touch emily@mangorol.la
